HO Scale USRA Single Sheathed Boxcar from Rapido

From 1919 until the 1950s the USRA single-sheathed boxcar was the RF&P's most numerous boxcar type. Several cars survived in maintenance of way service into the 1980s. This new high fidelity HO scale model from Rapido depicts the RF&P's paint scheme from the 1930s into the 1950s.  $45 each.

O Gauge Three-Bay Hopper from Atlas

The RF&P rostered a fleet of open hoppers used for aggregate service between various locations on the railroad. Photographs show that it was not uncommon to find a rake of six to twelve of these cars in local freights north of Doswell, making them a perfect pike-sized proposition for the modeler. These O gauge hoppers from Atlas come in two numbers (8202 or 8219), and are available in either three-rail or two-rail configuration. Price is $70 for two-rail and $65 for three-rail.

HO Scale Kadee Modernized 50' PS-1 Boxcar

The Society has commissioned Kadee to produce an exclusive run of HO scale Pullman-Standard PS-1 50 foot boxcars with cushioned underframes, This limited run of 300 models represents fully modernized cars of the RF&P 2301-2400 series as they appeared in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Unlike the standard Kadee model, the limited edition cars have lowered hand brakes, shortened ladders, and an aluminum colored roof. Three numbers are available: #2303, #2335 and #2337. The cars are lettered with the block RF&P initials on the left side of the door, and the spelled out "Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac" on the right side of the door, and carry shop dates from 1979 and 1980. These cars can be purchased individually at $35 each, or in a 3-pack bundle for $100.

HO Scale Kadee Modernized 50' PS-1 Boxcar #2334

The Society has a supply of the Kadee production run of PS-1 cushioned underframe 50 foot boxcar on which the Society's exclusive series is based. The Kadee production car differs from the Society's run in that it represents car #2334 as modified in the early 1970s to be compliant with regulations banning running boards on boxcar roofs, but it retains the high ladders and brake wheel, as many of the 2301 series did until the end of their service lives. It has a 10' Superior door, which many cars received as a replacement for the original Pullman-Standard aluminum doors. The paint and lettering depicts the cars as they appeared in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The lettering features the block RF&P initials on the left side of the door, and the spelled out "Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac" on the right side of the door. The shop date stencil is Acca 12-79. The price is $35 per car.

HO Scale Bowser 16 Panel Open Hopper

In the late 1970s the RF&P acquired a series of former Georgia Railroad open hopper cars of 2,700 cubic foot capacity, which received the numbers RFP 8281-8300. The cars were largely used in aggregate service between various locations on the railroad. Photographs show that it was not uncommon to find a rake of six to twelve of these cars in local freights north of Doswell, making them a perfect pike-sized proposition for the modeler.   The Society has ordered an exclusive run of Bowser 16 panel, 70 ton hoppers painted for RF&P numbers 8289, 8292, 8297, and 8300. This series is limited to 50 models per number. These models are $13 each. A 4-pack of all car numbers is also available for $50.
